Daniel S. Rain started to write his first book after he had graduated from Monash University in 2011. His love for beautiful stories however, had already begun from his early childhood days. As he continued to grow up, he would always be drawn towards a good story, whether it was from a television show, a story book, or even a video game.

Rain wrote many poems and short stories in his teenage years, but when his friends saw his works, some of them couldn't bring themselves to believe that his works were original. Because he was still very young, Rain said that he was quite saddened by their negative remarks, and disappointed by their disbelief. As he moved away from his family and friends to pursue his study in the university, he continued to write, frequently, even when nobody was reading them. The aspiring writer wrote without realizing that writing was his passion.

"I thought it was just a simple hobby," he said.

It was only when he had graduated as a bachelor that he finally made the decision to write a book. And thus, imagination began to slowly shape the tale of a brand new world. The universe and the characters inside of it were created one by one to turn his imagination into words.

The concept of Everlasting was finally conceived when he found his first full-time job as an instructor and consultant in the island country of Singapore.

Everlasting - Memory of an Identity was initially written as a short novel that would conclude its tale in a single book. The author soon realized that the story had taken a life of its own, and expanded further into the depth of imagination, prompting him to continue his writing until it had inevitably spilled into another book.

Rain began to carefully map out the long story into a total of four books, turning them into a series. Rain continued to write in his spare moments, which were mostly late at night after commuting from his workplace and during the weekends. Even in his working hours, he would quickly take out his phone to jot down any new idea that had decided to appear in his creative mind. After staying in Singapore for more than two years, an unfortunate incident compelled him to move back to his hometown. Rain began to work as an English lecturer instead as he continued to write the Everlasting series. He stated that by allowing himself to share his knowledge with others, he had gained a lot of invaluable experiences.
